Dream or reality?
Dreaming has always been a mysterious phenomenon that we not only experience when we are sleeping but also when we are awake. What is it about dreams that sometimes we want them to become our reality? Is it the feeling of freedom, when we can be anyone and do anything in our mind? Suddenly, something that might be impossible in real life, becomes so easy to reach in our dreams. According to Holly Lebowitz in her article The Spiritual Life of Dreams: "Dreams capture the creative imagination because they represent just that -- the creative side of our psyches that is unfettered by such pesky constraints as gravity, time and space." Those constraints are certainly part of the distinctive clues that Christopher Nolan used in his acclaimed movie "Inception" to show the audience the fine line that could exist between a dream and reality. He certainly wants the audience to get lost into the dream so we can experience it as real but also make us feel the consequences of doing so. Cinematic and storytelling techniques are certainly other aspects used as pillars to convey the message. Let's analyze some still images to understand how they contribute to the dreaming experience:
